The Book
Mexico: The Land of Charm by Mercurio Lopez Casillas
I am incredibly inspired by Mexican graphic design throughout the 40s, 50s, and 60s. This book is filled with some of the greatest examples of mid-century graphic design, from the vivid color palettes to unique fonts that stretch beyond their time. This is my go-to book when I need visual inspiration.

The Country
Gonaives, Haiti
My love for design started here. My job at 2nd Story Goods and my time living in Haiti stretched and molded me in almost every conceivable way: physically, mentally, spiritually, and creatively. My love for creating had always been there, but my time in Haiti gave me the confidence to dive into it head first.

The Woman
Valerie Jean Mead
I am the person and artist I am today only because of her. She taught me so much about faith, kindness, courage, and loyalty. The last Bible verse she gave to me was from Exodus 31, which talked about God gifting men with craftsmanship. I never felt like art was a realistic path to take, but she reminded me that the gifts we are given are meant to be used.
